This young athlete has substantial social media presence
The young golfer will have numerous well-known backers when she makes her first LPGA appearance on Thursday.
This teenage golfer, who is the granddaughter of Donald Trump, obtained a special exemption to compete at the Annika tournament in Florida.
Her grandfather, a passionate golfer, operates multiple golf courses and frequently competes against his granddaughter.
"He's pretty good. I can't say much but we have tight competitions," she mentioned.
The golfer shared that her grandfather, who cannot attend, told her: "Just stay calm."
"My grandpa basically suggested to go out there and enjoy myself," she explained.
"From my perspective, he's just a normal grandpa. He won't be there for the tournament. He's occupied with running the country, so he's somewhat preoccupied."
Being non-professional, Kai has played in only three events in 2024 and maintains ranking 461 in AJGA standings.
But she can get advice from golf legend, who is dating Kai's mother.
"He represents the best player worldwide," Kai stated.
"Furthermore, he's an even better individual. He advised me to compete, enjoy myself, and go with the flow."
The golfer will compete against several the biggest names in the sport at this tournament, such as world number two Nelly Korda, England's Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion champion Vu.
The LPGA stated that Kai's presence exposes the sport to new audiences, specifically reaching younger fans.
The social media influencer maintains millions of followers and has started an exclusive clothing and lifestyle label.
Her first tee time at 5:30 PM GMT.
