Suspected Bondi Gunmen Operated Independently and Did Not Undergo Instruction in the Southeast Asian Nation, Police State.

The two alleged gunmen responsible for the deadly attack at a Hanukkah celebration on Bondi Beach, resulting in 15 lives, reportedly acted alone, according to Australian authorities.

Authorities also confirmed that the 50-year-old Sajid Akram, and his 24-year-old son Naveed Akram travelled to the Philippines on 1 November. Their travel plans included landing in the capital Manila before traveling onward on the day of arrival to Davao City. The pair flew back to Sydney on 29 November.

Lack of Proof of Training During Trip

Investigators have stated the pair did not undergo any form of attack-related instruction or "logistical preparation" during their time in the Philippines. Preliminary inquiries from Philippine officials indicate they "mostly stayed in" their accommodation.

The incident—declared Australia's deadliest mass shooting since 1996—has been officially classified as a act of terrorism.

"We are actively reviewing the footage," the commissioner said, explaining that initial reviews show that "these individuals are alleged to have operated independently."

Australian Federal Police Chief Krissy Barrett briefed reporters on Tuesday that surveillance material documenting the alleged gunmen's whereabouts in the Philippines had been provided to Australian investigators.

"Our investigation shows no evidence to support the idea these suspects were part of a broader terrorist cell, or were acting on orders from external parties to carry out an attack," she said.
