David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.

The author

Prolific writer for children and comedian David Walliams is no longer with his longtime publishing house, the company has said.

A spokesman for the company commented: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the decision was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding allegations of inappropriate behaviour directed at female individuals.

The company has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, noting: "We refrain from speaking about private personnel issues."

A Highly Successful Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, boasting over more than 60 million copies globally in five dozen languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.

A number of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.

His bibliography includes more than 40 books in total, encompassing a festive story called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

From Screen to Page

He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
