Barça Ready for First Match at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend

The club confirmed their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league two and a half years since relocating for construction to commence.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators can be present based on approved permits. Once fully finished, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said finished work included a renovated tunnel for players and new dressing rooms.

Recent Activities

Barça organized a public practice on the home pitch in early November. They mentioned they are seeking authorization from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt in December in the renovated venue. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
